Paola Staeblein
Artist Bio-Statement
Nature is my playground, source of inspiration and connection with spirit.
Born and raised in Brazil, I was introduced to nature in a gentle and inviting way by my father and spent most of my free time enjoying the beach or the mountains around Rio de Janeiro. Living in the Sierra foothills near Yosemite National Park now for over 20 years, I feel very connected to the natural environment around me and I commune with it daily, by walking, hiking, dipping in the creek and photographing.
I bought my first camera in 2009 and my passion for photography has grown steadily since then, while experimenting and honing my skills in this art form. I love exploring the process of creating mostly abstract images of nature and wish to awaken the viewers’ curiosity, stimulating their imagination with pieces that suggest something other than the actual subject. Abstract photography opens possibilities and allows for a new way of seeing.
